Lath martensite is known to form during quenching of low- to medium-carbon steels with nominal carbon contents below 0.6 wt% in plain Fe–C steels following austenitization [].The crystal structure of lath martensite in low-carbon (< 0.2 wt% C) steels is body-centered cubic (bcc) similar to ferrite (α), owing to minimal tetragonality due to …
The ClarkDietrich Easy Embedment System, which is comprised of welded wire lath (ASTM C933) and PVC accessories with enhanced open flange areas and built-in backer-rods, reduces the two causes of stucco failure: lack of embedment and proper details at door and window penetrations with sealant joints. I think rock lath walls are the best of both worlds- nice plaster walls, without all the wood lath problems. I see a lot less cracks with rock lath than I do with wood. The current equivalent would be plaster over blue board. But rock lath has a brown coat over the lath. Blue board requires just a skim coat of finish plaster.

undue sagging. Then minimum 2.5# self-furring lath is installed over sheathing or solid surface, the maximum spacing of supports may be 24" on center. *Note: Lath shall be furred away from vertical supports or solid sur-faces at least ¼". Self-furring lath "dimples" "V-grooved" or "ribbed" lath meets these furring requirements.

$10 to $15 Estimated Time 1 to 2 hours, not including drying time If you're dealing with damaged lath and plaster walls—for example gaping holes in the wall because of electrical work—here are techniques you can use to repair them. First, you'll repair the lath and then patch the hole. How Do You Repair a Hole in Lath and Plaster Walls?
Step 1. Along the crack's length, drill 3/16″ holes on both sides, about 1½" apart, in every other lath. (Most lath is 1¼" wide, spaced ¼" apart, and laid horizontally on walls.) If there are existing damage holes extending down to the lath, drill 3/16″ holes 1½" away from the edge of the hole, around the perimeter—one in ...

Unlike a cavity wall masonry veneer, where loading is placed on a brick shelf or a supporting lintel, the adhered masonry veneers are supported by attachment between the lath system and the structural substrate and the bond to the thin veneer material to either the concrete masonry back up or the attached lath.
rolled lath martensite in carbon steels12) or deformation-in-duced martensite in metastable stainless steel.13) In both processes, fine-grained austenite structures with grain sizes of 1–2mm were obtained. However, the austenite grain sizes obtained in conventional austenitizing treatment be-fore quenching are around 10mm. Microstructures of ...

Experimental evidence on the substructure of lath martensite, as shortly summarised in the previous section, calls for a multi-scale modelling approach as sketched in Fig. 2.Following the experiments of Mine et al. (2013), the sample scale, subsequently called mesoscale, consists of several martensitic blocks. As explained earlier, at the fine …
Lath martensite is one of the main constituent phases in a number of AHSS, such as martensitic steels ( Mine et al., 2013 ), Dual Phase (DP) steels ( Cai et al., 1985, Steinbrunner et al., 1988, Calcagnotto et al., 2010) and other multi-phase steels (e.g. low alloyed TRIP steels ( Jacques et al., 2007 )).
